Summary: Sierra Club has filed a complaint that the EPA has failed to perform certain non attainment discretionary duties for the West Pinal Non Attainment Area of the Arizona State Implementation Plan. The lawsuit is to push a required deadline for EPA to take action on the Arizona SIP submission.

Financial Responsibility Requirements under CERCLA: Facilities in the Electric Power Generation, Transmission and Distribution Industry; the Petroleum and Coal Products Manufacturing Industry; and the Chemical Manufacturing Industry (2020-26379; 85 FR 77384);
Effective Date: January 4, 2021
Summary: EPA has concluded that the facilities modern regulatory framework does not pose a significant risk to have financial responsibility requirements under CERCLA. Therefore as of January 4, 2021 the listed three industries above will be removed from financial responsibility section of CERCLA.
